Security management with TiddlyWiki?
TiddlyWiki is more like a "programmable knowledge engine" than just a wiki we used to know (MediaWiki, DocuWiki, Wikipedia).
TiddlyWiki is truly a schema-free, dynamic knowledge builder:
- tags as relationships: tags are the main glue and can be used to build custom views, indexes, and dashboards.
- fields are dynamic: any tiddler can have arbitrary fields and you can filter and query by them.
- filters and transclusions: you can create views like “show all notes tagged with #book that also mention projectx” without writing code or sql.
- no schema required: no pre-defined data model - the structure emerges organically from how you tag and link content.
- transclusion-based UI: you can embed and assemble content dynamically
- like creating custom reports or relational views on the fly.
- personal control: TiddlyWiki is a kind of personal knowledge base - you own it, shape it, and you don't depend on cloud subscriptions or IT departments
- no installation nor admin rights needed: It’s just a single HTML file. No setup, no database, no server. That simplicity is a huge win.
How difficult it is to run TiddlyWiki?
without much exaggeration we can say this - of someone can:
- save and open files,
- use basic formatting (bold, italics),
- understand hyperlinks or tags or a bit of HTML
...then they can run TiddlyWiki. It’s not harder than using Excel or Word - it’s just less familiar.
The biggest hurdle is the mental shift from rows and columns to a network of linked notes.
Of course without seeing examples to learn from, the learning curve to do something on your own can be tricky. But that's why we created this course - it help to kickstart you into the new realm of knowledge management.
