Welcome
Strategic Cybersecurity Leadership Starts Here
Hiring or becoming a cybersecurity leader is harder today than ever before. CISOs, ISOs, CSOs, Infomation/Cyber Security Managers — all these roles demand a unique blend of strategic thinking, technical depth, risk awareness, communication, and leadership maturity.
Yet most organizations aren’t fully prepared for what these roles truly require. They look at candidates' resumé (done by AI..), get a copy of some security certificate, ask a few non-consistent questions and the deal is done. See also Common Hiring Mistakes.
The same holds true about candidates, also they are unprepared for the "dream job". They believe that the number of links in LinkedIn will pave them the road to a leading cybersecurity role. In reality they often don't have a real understanding of management nor technical areas. If they are managerial they miss crucial technical skills, and if they are too technical, they don't understand what managing really is. Let's say it upfront: managing cybersecurity is not a thankful task, you don't get thanked very often. See Common disillusions of the job
